The nomination period has now ended.

Criteria for Nomination Eligibility

Group or individual must have performed in New York from November 2007 - November 2008.
Group or individual must reside in New York for the majority of that time period.
The majority of a group or individual's performances during the above time period must take place in the New York area.
The creative team behind a nominated short film or video must reside in the New York area. Shorts must be under 10 minutes in length.
Previous ECNY nominees and winners ARE eligible for consideration in any category including categories in which they have received prior recognition.
A group or individual is NOT eligible if they make a fabulous living in that category. We want to highlight comics and artists who are on the rise.

Nomination Procedure

To nominate a group or individual, fill out the form above. Once nominated, that group or individual will be placed on a list of potential nominees. There is no need to campaign during this phase – one nomination is all it takes to be considered for the next phase.

The public nomination period will end Friday December 19, 2008 at midnight. The list of nominees will be taken to our Industry Committee, a panel comprised of 50-75 regional comedy industry professionals and experts, hand picked by our producers. The Industry Committee will anonymously vote for whom they think should be considered an ECNY Nominee and the 5 receiving the highest number of votes in each category will become ECNY Nominees.

In February, the ECNY Nominees will be announced and online voting for the winners will take place on this site. From that point on, voters and Industry Committee members will be encouraged to see the various shows and performances of the ECNY Nominees in order to vote with knowledge and confidence. ECNY Award Winners will be determined by a combination of online votes and Industry Committee votes. Winners will be announced at the 2008 ECNY Awards ceremony on March 9, 2009.
